lynn thank for sharing your story i going to ask the doctors about food for the gtub and bye the way to you know how much does the book coast cause my son dont eat bye mouth but only drink juice that about it thank you so much i going to check the recipes out today

hi my name is jeanette i am reading and learning something new about the gtub my son had it for a last year of may of 20111 i trying to reseach study about feeding him food beside milk doctors these day really dont tell you so much about the g tub so we go t to take it to are self my son been though a lot he has also the digeorge he waite at birth 2 pound and three ounes

you seem to have collected a wealth of knowledge here and i’m sure you are helping others with your blog!
in another life, i was a pediatric physical therapist and still dream of returning to it. i loved what i did and working with families, and especially the kiddos.

Thank you so much! My daughter is 39 and has a progressive brain disease. Chewing and swallowing are becoming much more difficult. Her ability changes throughout the day. I am now faced with needing to replace some meals. She does not want the long hours of getting commercial feedings thru her G-tube so I bought some baby food but I am not satisfied that she is getting a good wholesome ADULT meal. She does tolerate milk and the doctor would like her to be on 1200 calories a day (she needs to lose a little weight). If you have any further advice I would love to hear from you! Debby in Denver

Hi Judy, Thanks for visiting. I guess that’s why I didn’t put an “S” after the word “recipe”. You can do it with any meal, though. Just blend up the meat and veggies, add some nuts, leafy greens and there you go!

when i was young i had a punctured lung.. i was in the hospital for about three weeks (most of which i do not remember). some of the bits i do remember is laying in a bed surrounded by doctors suddenly.. and the daily ritualistic needles. everyday the nurse would come in and stick a needle in the tip of my finger to take some samples. 12 vials might be a lot of vials.. but it isnt necessarily 12 needles.. or 21 needles.. or however many I happened to have been stuck with. your kid was lucky. It came to the point that as soon as i saw the nurse I would immediately begin crying… My only option was which finger I wanted it in.
